City of Refuge, Honduras

Administration

Karla, Kelly, and Vivian

The City of Refuge would not run at all were it not for these ladies dotting the proverbial "i"s and crossing the "t"s.

Licensed Professionals

Dr. Sara Herrera, M.D.; Julisa and Saguaro, social work

A physician and two social workers care for the children's physical and emotional health on campus.

La Finca — The Farm

Carlos, Wilmer, Daniel, Jesus, and Melvin

Farming in Honduras is not easy. This full-time crew works the fields and ponds that feed the campus and fund the mission.

Tías & Tíos — Caregivers

Lilian, Rena, Jenry, Eddy, and Mario

The "aunts and uncles" supervise and disciple the children 24 hours a day on rotating weekly schedules — the closest thing to parents many of these children have known.

La Cocina — The Kitchen

Irma, Ana Julia, and Aurora

Three meals a day for 90 children and 100 staff start in this kitchen.

Construction & Maintenance

Manuel, Saul, and Juan

More than 80 buildings — and counting — are built and kept standing by this team.

Escuela — The School

Laura (principal); teachers Gualdina, Consuelo, Grace, Cindy, Marvin, Nelly, Marcia, Manuel, Genesis, and Tony

The campus school exceeds Honduran national education standards and passes every annual government inspection.

Transportation

Henry, Dennis, and Roger

Drivers and mechanics keep people, produce, and supplies moving between the campus and the surrounding communities.

Security

A dedicated security team

Their names are kept private, but their watchfulness keeps the whole campus safe day and night.

Full-Time Missionaries

Lee

Serving on campus year-round alongside the Honduran staff.
