Privacy Policy

Effective August 18, 2026

We wrote this in plain language on purpose. The short version: this website collects almost nothing about you, we never sell anything about anyone, and the sensitive stuff — like your card number when you donate — never touches our site at all.

What we collect

Just browsing? The site itself is a static website. It has no user accounts, no login, and no forms that store data on our servers. Like virtually every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (things like IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

Analytics. If Google Analytics 4 is enabled on the site, Google sets cookies and similar identifiers to help us measure traffic — which pages people visit, roughly where visitors come from, and whether our outreach is working. This is aggregate measurement, not surveillance: we use it to count, not to identify you. Google's own handling of this data is described inGoogle's privacy policy.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our email updates, your email address goes to Mailchimp, the service that sends our newsletter. We use it for exactly one thing: sending you ministry updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately.

Donations. When you give, sponsor a child, or register for an event, the entire transaction happens on the systems of our third-party payment processors — GB Gateway, PayPal, or Church Center (Planning Center). Your card number, bank details, and payment credentials go directly to them and never pass through or get stored on this website. The processors share with us what we need for receipts and tax records: your name, contact information, and gift amount. Each processor has its own privacy policy that governs the transaction itself.

How we use it

  • To send donation receipts and year-end giving statements (required for a 501(c)(3)).
  • To send the newsletter you asked for.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site.
  • To keep the site secure and working.

That is the whole list.

What we never do

  • We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. To anyone. For any reason.
  • We never share donor lists with other organizations.
  • We never see or store your card or bank details.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

We also protect the children in our care: stories on this site use changed names, and we only publish photos of sponsored children with appropriate releases.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
  • Block or delete analytics cookies in your browser — the site works fine without them.
  • Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Questions
