Jesúsage 8 · City of Refuge, Honduras

Jesús has been raised by his maternal grandmother since he was seven months old. His village had no school of its own; the nearest one was a two-hour walk away, which put an education almost out of reach for a small boy.

At the City of Refuge, Jesús now has a classroom just steps from where he sleeps, three meals a day, and a big family of children to play with. For fun, he likes to play tag, and he can usually be found running somewhere. His favorite color is red, and he loves apples.

When he grows up, Jesús wants to be a police officer. He is eight years old with his whole life ahead of him, and a sponsor helps make sure that life is full of good things.
